Retirement

See where your current path actually lands.

Retirement planning is usually either a vague worry or a spreadsheet nobody maintains. Cipili turns it into something you can look at: the accounts explained, and a projection built from your real numbers.

Overview

Two things decide most retirement outcomes: how much goes in, and for how long. Everything else, the fund selection people agonise over, matters less than the contribution rate almost nobody revisits.

Cipili explains the accounts you would use, shows what your current saving trajectory projects to, and covers the decisions that arrive later, including what to do with a pension offer if you are lucky enough to have one.

Key benefits

Employer match, first

A match is the highest-certainty return available to most people, and it is routinely left unclaimed. Cipili puts it at the front and shows what going unclaimed costs per year.

401(k) against IRA, clearly

What each account allows, who can use which, and how they work together, without the jargon that makes people avoid the question entirely.

A readiness projection

Your current saving rate, carried forward under assumptions you can see and change, with the result shown as a range rather than false precision.

The pension decision

Lump sum or monthly income is a genuinely hard trade-off. Cipili lays out what each side gives up in plain terms, so you can bring real questions to a professional.

Retirement planning

Start from where you are: what is saved, what goes in each month, and how long you have. Cipili projects that forward and shows the effect of changing the contribution, which is nearly always the lever with the most leverage.

401(k)

The workplace account: what it does to your taxable income, how contribution limits work, what vesting means for the employer's share, and why the plan's fees are worth ten minutes of reading. Explained as mechanics, so you can look at your own plan documents and understand what you are seeing.

IRA

The account you open yourself. Traditional against Roth treatment, the eligibility rules, and how an IRA complements a workplace plan rather than competing with it.

Employer match

How matching formulas work, what it takes to capture the full match, and what an unclaimed one costs annually. This sits near the top of the order of operations for a reason: few things in finance offer that kind of certainty.

Retirement readiness

A forecast of where your current trajectory lands, with every assumption, the rate, the horizon, the contribution, stated on the page and adjustable. It is a modeled estimate, not a promise, and Cipili is emphatic about the difference. Deciding what to do about the result is a conversation for a licensed professional.

Frequently asked questions

Will Cipili tell me how to invest my 401(k)?

No. It explains what the account is and how contributions and matching work. Choosing investments inside it is regulated advice and belongs with a licensed professional.

How reliable is the projection?

It is a model. It shows you exactly which assumptions produced it and lets you change them, which is the honest way to present a number about the future. Nobody can tell you what markets will do.

Is it useful if retirement is decades away?

That is when it is most useful, because time is the input you can never buy back later.

Does it cover pensions and annuities?

Yes. The lump-sum against monthly-income trade-off is covered, along with what annuities do and what they cost, in plain terms.
