Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Cipili. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility

Cipili is available only to individuals who are 18 or older and located in the United States. By using the service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

What Cipili is and is NOT

This section is important, please read it carefully. Cipili provides financial education and comparisons. Cipili is not a personalized investment, tax, or legal advisor, and it is not a licensed fiduciary or broker.

• Cipili does not tell you to buy, sell, or hold any specific security, fund, or product.
• All dollar figures, projections, and comparisons are modeled estimates based on stated assumptions. They are not guarantees of savings, returns, approval, or any other outcome.
• Nothing in the service is a recommendation to take a specific financial action. You are responsible for your own decisions.
• For high-stakes decisions such as college financing, mortgages, or annuities, you should consult a licensed professional such as a CFP®, CPA, or attorney before acting.

Your account & security

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Use a strong, unique password and notify us promptly at support@cipili.com if you suspect unauthorized use. You must provide accurate information and keep it current.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the service, or bypass security measures.
• Scrape, copy, or reverse engineer the service except as permitted by law, or resell it without our written consent.
• Upload malicious code or use the service to harm others.

Bank connections & third-party services

If you choose to connect a financial account, you do so through Plaid, and your use of that connection is subject to Plaid’s own terms and privacy practices. Cipili also relies on other service providers, including Supabase, Google’s Gemini API, Resend, and a payment processor. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of these third parties. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

Subscriptions & billing

Cipili offers a free tier and a paid subscription. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor, and Cipili does not store your full card number. Subscription fees, billing intervals, and any renewal terms will be disclosed to you at the time of purchase. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. You can cancel a subscription as described in your account settings.

Intellectual property

The service, including its software, content, and branding, is owned by Cipili or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the service for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. You retain ownership of the information you provide to us.

Disclaimers

The service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any estimate, comparison, or educational output will be accurate, complete, or lead to any particular result. You use the service at your own risk and are responsible for verifying information before acting on it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cipili and its owners, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred US dollars.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cipili and its owners, employees, and suppliers from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

Termination

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect the service and its users. On termination, the provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive, including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, will continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [To be set by Cipili] and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in that state, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
