Credit
Understand what actually moves your credit score.
Credit is the most consequential number most people never had explained to them. Cipili breaks down what it is built from, what you can change quickly, and what only time fixes.
Your Financial Score is free. The tools on this page are part of Premium.
Overview
A credit score is not a mystery, it is a weighted formula, and the weights are public. Payment history and how much of your available credit you are using dominate it. Most of the rest is age and mix.
Cipili explains each factor, shows you which one is costing you the most points right now, and lays out the steps that address it, separating the changes that show up in a month from the ones that take years.
Fastest lever: paying about $640 before the statement date would bring utilization under 30%.
Key benefits
See which factor is costing you
Rather than a generic list of tips, Cipili works out which factor is weakest for you and puts that first.
Utilization, made concrete
Utilization is the fastest-moving lever most people have. Cipili shows what yours is, what bringing it down would take in dollars, and roughly how quickly it tends to show up.
Cards ranked by fit, never payout
Card comparisons are ordered by how well the card suits your credit profile and how you spend. Any affiliate relationship is disclosed inline, and a better card that pays us nothing is never suppressed.
Fair by construction
Credit logic never uses or stands in for protected characteristics. It is documented, testable, and reviewable, because a recommendation you cannot interrogate is not one you should trust.
Credit score improvement
Cipili turns your credit picture into an ordered set of steps, with the fast ones flagged as fast and the slow ones honestly labeled as slow. Nobody can rebuild a thin file in a fortnight, and a tool that implies otherwise is selling something.
Credit utilization
The share of your available credit you are using is the factor you can move fastest. Cipili calculates yours, shows the balance change that would move it into a healthier band, and explains why paying before the statement date matters as much as paying on time.
Payment history
The single heaviest factor, and the one where the advice is simple and unglamorous: never miss, automate the minimum, and let time do the work. Cipili explains how long a missed payment tends to weigh and what actually helps in the meantime.
Personalized recommendations
Card comparisons filter to cards you could plausibly qualify for, ranked by fit to your credit profile and spending. Any approval likelihood is presented as a modeled estimate with its reasoning attached, never as an opaque yes or no, and never as a decision. Card terms come from published, licensed sources, and each carries its provenance. Cipili is not a lender, a credit bureau, or a credit-repair organization, and does not provide credit-repair services or make any approval decision.
- Fit reasons written out, so you can disagree with them
- Alternatives always shown alongside the top pick
- No product ever ranked by what it pays Cipili
Frequently asked questions
Does Cipili check my credit report?
No. There is no credit pull, hard or soft. Cipili works from the score and balances you tell it.
Can Cipili guarantee I will be approved for a card?
No, and no honest tool can. Approval is the issuer's decision using data Cipili never sees. Anything Cipili shows about likelihood is a modeled estimate with its reasoning attached.
Will using Cipili raise my score?
Cipili explains what drives your score and what a given change would be expected to do. Whether your score moves depends on what you actually do and on your lenders' reporting.
Do you get paid when I open a card?
Where an affiliate relationship exists it is disclosed on the page. It never affects ranking. Ordering is fit to your situation only, and the subscription is how Cipili makes its money.
